Please Drink Your Water!!!

Sorry for the exclamation points, but I just needed to make it clear. It is a VERY important part of losing weight and being healthy in general.

I know you have heard the ‘ole “drink eight 8oz glasses of water a day”, but it is so true. Kinda like “eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day”.

So the next time you are itching for a coke, grab a cold bottle of water instead. It will be a life saver during the quickly approaching summer months.

I have found that one of the best allies in losing weight has been healthy eating.

I know that people do gain weight based on how many calories they burn vs. how many calories they consume and that each person's metabolism is different.

That being said, in my case, I feel that I still consume that same amount of calories I did when I was larger, but they are from whole grains, nuts, skim milk, turkey, and vegetables rather than McDonalds.

As many of us know, whole grains make one feel fuller for longer. So, switching to whole grains may enable you to cut down on your calorie intake without even trying.

It has been a few days since I have posted anything, however, I hope to post almost everday from here on out (I feel like I'm making a New Year's resolution LOL).

After I had my last baby, I purchased a Windsor Pilates set of DVDs. For some reason they HAD to be Windsor, I refused to purchase any other kind. Anyway, they turned out to be great! They were hard a first and my ENTIRE body was sore after my second session, but they got easier. I used them almost everyday for a month and that is when I noticed my biggest weight loss. I was not eating less, but healthier (as I still am) and more frequently.

My kids lost them after that first month, but I hope to get another set within the next week or so. I can tell that the work I had done on my muscles, is now undone and that I do not have as much energy as I did then.

What's Your Story?

After gaining 60 lbs with a baby in 2003 and another 30 lbs with a baby in 2004, it was time for mom to lose some weight. I was used to being thin and had even been teased much of my childhood for being too thin. I always thought that gaining a little weight would be great ... boy was I wrong! I changed a few things and by the time my son was a year old, I was down to 110 lbs.

I wanted to create a blog to help other mothers get motivated to lose their baby weight and provide helpful tips and resources for their journey. I hope that, by posting my own experience and ideas that helped me shed several pounds of baby weight, you will find something that works for you too!
